Coventry City FC supporting Safer Gambling Week

Championship Football Club Coventry City put their weight behind Safe Gambling Week

English Football League Championship side Coventry City have put their weight behind ‘Safer Gambling Week’ which commences tomorrow, on Thursday 19th November 2020.

An initiative of the Betting and Gaming Council which numbers high street heavyweights Ladbrokes, owned by GVC Holdings and the likes of Bet365, Safer Gambling Week’s aim is to promote responsible gambling.

The purpose behind Safer Gambling Week is to raise the public consciousness of responsible gambling and the tools available to help people stay in control of their gambling. Some of the tools we highly recommend here on Casino Gazette are the superb BetBlocker app and also the self exclusion service provided by GamStop.

To help promote Safer Gambling Week, the Sky Blues will be displaying #SGWeek20 messages on LED screens on match days. This is in addition to promoting the initiative on the club’s website and social media channels.

Dave Boddy the Chief Executive of Coventry City commenting on their involvement with the week long campaign, said: “We are very pleased to support Safer Gambling Week.”

“It is a very important initiative, and it’s important that football clubs play their part in encouraging fans that choose to gamble to do so in a safe way, and that when we promote any gambling products that it is done in a responsible manner.”

Meanwhile a spokesperson for Safer Gambling Week, when asked to comment on Coventry City’s backing, stated: “We are delighted that Coventry City will be supporting Safer Gambling Week. We want to take the message about safer gambling even further this year, and are hoping that this will be our biggest campaign yet.”

“The continued engagement and support of football clubs is enormously helpful in highlighting the Week and triggering conversations about what it means to gamble safely throughout the year.”
