The Boxing Day clash at Dean Court sees Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth host Arsenal and their new manager Mikel Arteta, who was appointed new Arsenal boss, seeing off the likes of Allegri who was thought to be favourite for the post.
Arteta who has retained caretaker coach Freddie Ljungberg in his backroom team will be hopeful of all three points, as he attempts to turn around Arsenal’s poor form which has highlighted their 2019 – 20 season so far.
Arteta and Arsenal will be boosted by the return of Mesut Ozil, who is now available for selection once again, after recovering from an ankle injury. With Ozil likely to be selected in the first eleven, after Arteta said of the player: “Ozil is a massive player for this football club, you’re not going to be judged on what you done in the past, positive or negative.”
Speaking about the forthcoming game against the Cherries, Arteta told the BBC: “The priority is what we are going to transmit on the team, is a reflection of the demands we are going to put on them every day in training.”
“That’s commitment, accountability, aggression and passion to play this sport and to represent this football club. This is the basic I am going to demand from them, and from there we can start to build things.”
