Fancy a Flutter?

UK and Irish gaming giant Paddy Power Betfair plc have as of this morning changed the name of their company to Flutter Entertainment plc. After an AGM of the company that was held on 15th May, a resolution was passed in favour of the name change.

The names of the businesses operating under Flutter Entertainment plc will not be affected by this name change and will continue to operate as Paddy Power and Betfair respectively.

In an investor notice issued to the London Stock Exchange this morning, it read: Further to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 15 May 2019, the Company is pleased to announce that its change of name from Paddy Power Betfair plc to Flutter Entertainment plc is effective 27 May 2019.”

“As a result, the Company confirms that as of 28 May 2019 its shares will trade under the new name Flutter Entertainment plc and the ticker symbol has changed to FLTR on both the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Dublin. The Company’s corporate website is available at www.flutter.com effective from 9am today.”

Furthermore and on commenting on the name change, company Chief Executive Officer CEO Peter Jackson said: “I think it’s a great opportunity to better reflect the global nature of our organisation and the diverse set of challenger brands we have operating around the world.”

“The fantastic thing is we have great support from some of the people who founded some of the businesses that are part of the new organisation.”

“While we are changing our name, most things aren’t going to change today. We have a fantastic group of challenger brands operating around the world that enable six million customers to bring entertainment to life.”

“Our colleagues are looking after those customers in a responsible way to make sure they can enjoy their time with Flutter.”
