Stoke based bet365 have launched their online sportsbook operation in the US State of New Jersey, joining fellow European sports betting heavyweight Unibet, in providing online betting services within the State.
bet365 have long targeted entering the market in New Jersey, which is regarded as the most valuable State in the United States that has regulated and licensed online gambling. Just last month, gambling revenues accrued online in the State amounted to over $250m in bets struck, generating nearly $18m in gaming revenue.
Currently there are now 16 online sports betting sites operating in New Jersey, with bet365 becoming the 16th license holder to go live there.
In a tweet from the company’s official Twitter account yesterday, bet365 confirmed that they have ‘soft’ launched their New Jersey sportsbook, stating: “The new bet365 site is going through a pre-live phase and is only available during certain time periods.”
“It is now available to register for an account within the US, however to engage in wagering you must be physically located in the state of New Jersey.”
