Two popular online casinos in InterCasino and Vera and John have announced today that they will be closing their respective UK facing operations on the 3rd of September next month.
In an email sent out to the player base of both casinos this morning, InterCasino and Vera and John which are both part of the Jackpot Joy Group, announced their intentions.
As from today, Monday 5th August 2019 they will no longer be accepting players from the UK, with the casinos being closed to all of their UK customers from Tuesday 3rd September. This is actually quite sad news, especially concerning InterCasino, who have been serving UK players since 1998.
With both casinos rated highly among players and also by some of the leading casino portals, the loss of InterCasino and Vera and John to the UK player is a blow.
There is speculation online as to why casino management have made this decision, but it is very likely due to the frequency of fines being handed out by the Gambling Commission to their licensees. Only last week Ladbrokes Coral who are owned by GVC Holdings were hit with a penalty of £5.9m from the UKGC for social responsibility failings.
Farewell InterCasino and Vera and John, you will be missed greatly by the UK casino player community.
