ASEAN Gaming Summit Reschedules for September

The ASEAN Gaming Summit which originally was set for March earlier this year, has now been rescheduled until late September due to the ongoing Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic which is continuing to cause disruption across the world.

The event was originally scheduled to run on 19-21 March 2020, but a decision was made in early February to postpone the event to July 28-30, due to the impact of the Coronavirus outbreak on global travel and safety. However, as the global situation has further deteriorated, organisers Asian Gaming Brief have made the decision to push the event further into the year. With new dates of 22nd – 23rd September being scheduled.

Managing Director of Asian Gaming Brief, Rosalind Wade, speaking about the new scheduled dates, said: “We have all had to adjust to a new reality with the rapid global developments created by the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been an unsettling time for everyone, from individuals to businesses to governments, and we at AGB are no exception,” said Rosalind Wade, Managing Director of Asia Gaming Brief.”

“Unfortunately, things have got worse rather than better, and with the recent announcement that even the 2020 Tokyo Olympics have been postponed to next year, it now looks as though the July date might still be too early for people to plan.”

“We are therefore taking the decision to move the dates of the event again, this time to 22-23 September.”

Furthermore, Wade explaining the new dates in the calendar, said: “We do not take these measures lightly but feel that this will give our customers some level of comfort and ability to plan ahead.”

“As a small company, but one with a large reach, many of our customers are personally known to us and, in many instances, friends, so we know how difficult everyone is finding this situation. We would like to take this opportunity to say how much we appreciate the unwavering support that many of you have shown us during this time.”

“It is now that relationships matter more than ever, and we will continue to strive to work together to find workable solutions and alleviate as much stress as possible for us all.”
