Leeds United who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last term, which saw the Yorkshire club drop out of the automatic promotion spots in the final weeks of the campaign, have been installed as favourites to win the Championship this forthcoming season.
With the season kick off only a matter of weeks away, Leeds who kick off their Championship season away to Lee Johnson’s Bristol City at Ashton Gate, have been tipped by the UK’s bookmakers to finally put in a shift, that will see them win the league and return to the Premiership. If they do as the bookies clearly expect, this will see the club make a return to the Premier League after a 16 year absence.
Other clubs that are being heavily backed and that feature in the bookies favourites list for having a good year in the 2019 – 2020 season are, Fulham, Cardiff, West Brom, Stoke and Middlesbrough. With the likes of Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday to finish just outside the play off spots.
At the other end of the table, Barnsley, Wigan and Charlton Athletic are all being heavily backed to plummet down to League One.
