Chelsea Favourites for Next Week’s FA Cup Final

Bookmakers back Lampard to win his first silverware as Manager as Chelsea set to take on Arsenal in next week's FA Cup Final

Next week’s FA Cup final  sees Chelsea play Arsenal at a behind closed doors Wembley Stadium, with both Premier League sides hoping to end the season on a high. For both London teams the FA Cup Final provides a chance to end this Covid-19 interrupted season with silverware.

For bookmakers too, the final provides a much needed event to increase revenue and as such a variety of betting options on offer to punters. For Frank Lampard and his Chelsea team, most ‘bookies’ have the Stamford Bridge club the odds on favourites to win the final and come out on top against Arsenal. Bet365 are offering one of the best prices currently, with odds of 4/6 on for Chelsea to run out winners.

Such a win would vindicate the decision of the  Chelsea board in appointing their former star midfield talisman as manager, at the start of the season. A win in the final would a springboard for next season which starts in September, with Chelsea hopeful of making an assault on the Liverpool / Man City seemingly cast iron grip on the Premier League.

However, Arsenal should not be classed as rank outsiders, as Mikel Arteta has recently led his team to a Premier League victory against newly crowned champions Liverpool, while also seeing off Manchester City in the FA Cup Semi-Final. Although these two results were either side of defeats against Tottenham and on Tuesday just gone, being defeated by relegation threatened Aston Villa.

Certainly the problem with Arsenal this season has been their inconsistency, as prior to this afternoon’s final league game of the season at home to Watford, Arsenal sit in mid table obscurity in 11th place. A position that seems them  far off the pace of a qualifying position for European competition next season. Meaning next week’s final against Chelsea is Arsenal’s only chance of playing European football during the 2020/21 season.

For those of you that fancy Arsenal’s chances next Saturday, you can back them at 13/10 if you are of the view Arteta will outwit Lampard.
