Dutch Regulator Kansspelautoriteit issue Fines to Two Operators
The Dutch Gaming Authority, Kansspelautoriteit ( KSA ), have issued fines against two operators for operating gaming machines without a licence. The fines, one of €86,000 and the other of €11,000, further shows the seriousness the regulator takes on operators offering a game of chance without the necessary and required permit and licence required.
The operator Schinveld BV were issued with the fine of €86,000, after being found operating 45 slots machines without a licence in place to do so. With the KSA stating that: “This happened in an entertainment center in the municipality of Schinveld. The company had taken over the slot machines, but did not have a permit to operate them.”
“This was still the case during a second visit by inspectors of the Gaming Authority. This led to the fine of more than 86,000 euros. The vending machines in question have since been sold to a party that does have an operating license. This has put an end to illegal exploitation.”
The second fine of €11,000 was issued against an individual trading under the name Kelner Automaten Service. With the machines being operated within four cafe premises in Amsterdam. According to the KSA site, objections have been raised against this decision.
