Paul McCartney is Bookmakers Favourite to Headline at the Glastonbury Festival in 2020
It has only been a mere eight weeks since festival goers departed Worthy Farm in Pilton, yet bookmakers are already taking bets on who will headline next year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Arguably the most well known music festival in the world, certainly in the UK, the Glastonbury Festival held in June, having returned after holding a fallow year in 2018, was one of the most successful. With the likes of Stormzy, The Killers and The Cure all taking centre stage, headlining on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights respectively.
Next year’s Glastonbury Festival will be the event’s 50th birthday and no doubt organiser Emily Eavis, the daughter of founder Michael Eavis, will want to attract the biggest names in music, to help celebrate the fact.
Each year the performers arranged to showcase their talents are a closely guarded secret, with tickets snapped up months before the line up of acts has been announced. But 2020 being such a special event in the history of the festival, bookmakers are now taking a keen interest as to who will be appearing on the Pyramid Stage.
According to reports in the press this morning, Paul McCartney has been installed as the bookmaker’s favourite to headline the event, having last played at the festival back in 2004.
Other acts who are already attracting bets are Fleetwood Mac, The Foals and rock greats Led Zeppelin. Even the warring Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, are priced at 12/1 to reunite and take to the stage.
