Aston Villa to part company with W88

Premier League side have today announced that their principle sponsor betting firm W88 will come to an end once the last ball of the 2019-2020 football season has been kicked.

W88 who are an far east focused online betting company were unveiled as Aston Villa’s principle sponsors in July 2019, replacing the Kindred owned brands 32Red & Unibet in the process.

Villa who were promoted to the Premier League from the Championship last season  are currently lying in 19th place in the table and are battling to avoid a drop straight back to the English Football League.

Over recent months the Premier League has come in for much criticism for their relationship with gambling firms, including many which have an online presence.

Villa upon announcing the end of their deal with W88, have also confirmed that leading car retailer Cazoo will replace them as their principle and primary sponsor at the start of next season, regardless of what league they will be plying their trade in.
